Since releasing her Grammy-nominated debut album, East Side Story, in 2007 and parting ways with J Records shortly after, little has been heard from Emily King. Unless you’ve gotten the opportunity of seeing her perform around NY over the past years, it’s impossible to know what she’s been up to until now.

The singer-songwriter will be releasing her long-anticipated sophomore EP entitled Seven on July 12th and giving a release show at 92YTribeca on July 20th with Aabaraki, an all-star line up of some of NY’s finest musicians, opening the show.

Similar to her debut album, this EP will be a melting pot of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, pop, soul and reggae. These particular styles have inspired the soulstress since she was a child. Below are three songs that will most likely appear on the new project, and an acoustic performance of an unreleased song entitled “Every Part.”

“Radio”

“Georgia”

“Down”
