What went from being a prominent night for those that attended Smif-N-Wessun and Pete Rock’s release party for their new album, Monumentum, at New York City’s Tammany Hall (June 28) turned into a ruckus when a fight broke out between several partygoers. The NYPD, who was called to the scene to settle the situation, ordered everyone to leave the club, due to the outside incident, and escalated it into a form of excessive physical force (police brutality) outside the club. Six people were arrested and five police officers were injured.
